Lindsay Lohan
Lindsay Lohan takes the exposure quite well, I think.  As a high profile young actress, Lindsay Lohan is pictured in numerous poses, is described in numerous scenarios, and is likened to and paired with numerous other celebs.  But Lindsay doesn’t cave.  What I find remarkable about her, that is, is her countenance: in every picture she is smiling a beautiful smile, apparently undaunted by whatever caption the rags are about to paste below or next to her pic.

Bill Cosby
Bill Cosby is a monolithic influence on the 20th and 21st century with his comedy, which is some of the most accessible on the planet.  As far back as the sixties, stand-up albums such as “To Russell, My Brother, Whom I Slept With” and “I Started Out as a Child” would take us out of the doldrums or the despair of childhood and family life by giving us someone to identify with on all levels.

Eddie Murphy

In less than a ten years, Eddie Murphy has managed to change his image in a most remarkable way. He went from being a foul mouthed R-rated funny man, to being able to play in kid's movies such as Daddy Day Care or the voice of the Donkey in Shrek. What an astonishing transformation this is when you stop to think about it. He is a living paradox. In a sense, he has now become a mature man, by route of his playfulness and child-like side.

Jim Stafford
Jim Stafford is a country music legend.  That is the only way to describe a man who has made standards out of such songs as "Swamp Witch, "Spiders & Snakes, “Meditations,” and "Wildwood Weed".  Born in 1944, Jim Stafford first started playing guitar with his father, on the porch of their Central Florida home during the fifties.  Coming from a musical family did not hurt in getting him into show business, and he was playing in his first band at age 14.  While still in his teens, Jim put together a band, the Legends, with his friend, Gram Parsons, now heralded as one of the creators of the country-rock sound that came out of the late 1960s.  When he graduated from high school, Stafford took off for Nashville, where he was a backup musician for Jumpin' Bill Carlisle.  ...

Jonathan Green
Like many of us do, I love art—paintings, sculptures, well-wrought tapestries, lithographs, and unique pieces done by great artists and artisans.  My mother was a painter when we were kids, gave it up to work two jobs and raise us, and returned to her art when we were out of the house and long gone.  My sister is a botanical sculptress…which means she moves beyond holly and baby’s breath wreaths to topiaries made out of deer antlers and statuary crafted from bicycles, violins, and local flora and fauna that she makes grow over the man-made or human-crafted items.  I got the verbal gene on the DNA of creativity, and therefore, though this piece will not likely show it, am the writer in the family.  I collect books and other resources about writings. I tell you all of this to preface, with a note on how I often surf the web to view art, my discussion of particular paintings and one particular artist.  I just discovered the art of Jonathan Green.  Is he one of the culture’s best-kept secrets, or am I just way behind in my awareness ...
